Project Scope

This project involved installation of approximately 5000 LF of 10”,12”,15” & 18” sanitary sewer line  by trenchless methods. The trenchless methods used for pipe installation were micro-tunneling using pilot tube GBM and conventional wet bore. With the pilot tube GBM we could go 450 ft. between pit to pit and about 80-100 ft. with the conventional wet bore. Clay pipe was used for the GBM and PVC sewer pipe for wet bore. Two of the biggest challenges on this project were the unknown underground utilities and the location in a very busy and high profile street, Post Oak Blvd. We had only one lane of traffic to work in and had to take utmost care not to block traffic. Installed 33 bore and receiving pits and 70% of the pits had existing utilities not shown on the drawings. Despite the above challenges the project was completed on schedule and under budget and turned out to be a successful project for the client and Boyer.
