Project Scope

The project involved installing of 54” Gravity Sanitary Sewer Line in Tunnel and Open Cut. Boyer installed approximately 4,300 LF of 54 inch diameter FRP pipe using open face Tunnel Boring Machine and 1,200 LF of 54 inch FRP pipe by Open Cut. There were total 14 tunnel shafts ranging from 28’ to 17’ deep. The largest tunnel shaft was 40’Lx15’W installed using beams, plates and whalers. There were a total of 15 Hobas-FRP T-Base manholes all of them fabricated at the Boyer facility. Due to high water table in some locations eductor dewatering system had to be installed before the excavation of shafts and tunneling.
