Project Scope
Boyer was selected to perform an emergency design-repair project on an elevated aeration basin inside a waste water treatment plant. The project consisted of two phases:
Phase One: Rapidly designing and deploying a support system to capture and hold a 25-ton failing concrete structure 30 feet in the air while a new support frame was fabricated for a replacement. Boyer self-performed the design and installation of the support system including an automated floatation control system to maintain and equalize buoyant forces on the failing structure for an extended period of time and through extreme rain events.
Phase Two: Expediting the fabrication and installation of a 15-ton 55 foot-long galvanized support structure. This was followed by the delectate removal of the existing and elevated 25-ton post-tensioned concrete structure inside the basin.
The project was completed on time and within budget, and it ensured the continued operation of the treatment plant with no impact to the existing structure. The successful completion of this project demonstrates Boyer's expertise in emergency design repair projects, as well as its ability to meet the challenging demands of this type of work.
